J. Wood Platt is pleased to welcome Carrie Simunov and Vanessa Augello as the two newest members of the Trust staff. These positions will be critical as the Trust continues to grow and the newly created EMPOWER program expands. Mark Peterson, JWP Executive Director, remarks, “The Trust has seen significant development in recent years, and it was time to invest in this success and prepare for our next chapter. There are so many exciting things on the horizon and we feel fortunate to have such a strong team in place.”
Carrie Simunov is eager to resume her career as the JWP Development Assistant. Prior to taking time to raise her family, she had a career in Sales Operations at HP, with a focus on reporting and project management. Although not a golfer, she organized golf outings for client entertainment at Waynesborough and White Manor Country Clubs. Originally from North Jersey and now residing in West Chester, Carrie graduated from Bloomsburg University with degrees in Finance and French. Outside of work, Carrie, her husband Steve, and her 10-year-old daughter, Kiki, enjoy the outdoors and are active with cycling, running, skiing and travel.
Vanessa Augello, 23, of Philadelphia, Pa., is ecstatic to be the Associate Director of Communications. She will focus on everything regarding communications from social media presence to public relations for the J. Wood Platt Scholarship Trust. After graduating from The Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Vanessa entered the marketing and communications industry with Cashman & Associates, a Philadelphia based strategic communications, brand management, and special events agency. Vanessa offers a different perspective to the organization due to her non-golf background and experience in the field.
