Position Summary Univest is looking for motivated interns to participate in a 10-week Commercial Banking Internship program. Interns will take on a valued role in our Commercial Banking department, learning and assisting with various stages of the lending process. Students will gain first-hand industry experience while growing their professional networks. In addition to professional and personal development, interns will have access to a variety of resources and will be encouraged to bring new ideas to the table. The program is designed to develop students into potential credit analysts/junior lenders for post-graduation success.
This position will work with the Commercial Lending Team and learn the basics of financial analysis, spreading financial statements, conduct market research on prospects and industries to gain hands on experience in commercial lending
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work closely with senior team members on presentations, financial analysis and underwriting
  • Perform comprehensive company, real estate and market analysis
  • Assist in pre-call planning research for customer/prospect meetings
  • Consult with Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers in preparing customer information for credit review and loan presentations
  • Spend time with related business lines to gain a better understanding of commercial lending and overall banking operations
  • Responsible for compliance with laws and regulations that apply to this position including Univest Code of Conduct
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education/Qualifications/Certifications
Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Business or related field

Completed a minimum of 3 years of undergraduate studies

3.25 cumulative GPA or higher preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Basic understanding of accounting, financial ratios and credit analysis preferred

Demonstrated leadership abilities

Superior problem solving and analytical skills

Ability to think independently and work collaboratively

Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications

Provide a letter of recommendation from a faculty member

Must have US Citizenship or Permanent Residency status; Univest will not sponsor Visas for this position
