Jeff Mitzak, an alum and longtime supporter, has been elected to serve as the new chair of the J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust. Mitzak replaces Tina Gregor, who is retiring from her role as Chairwoman. Additionally, Lindsay Myers, formerly the Director of Scholar and Alumni Engagement, has stepped down from her role on staff and has been replaced by Kevin Ryan.
Mitzak’s dedication to the Trust, his experience as a former J. Wood Platt Scholar and his generous support of the Trust make him an ideal successor. A former caddie at Metedeconk National Golf Club and current member of Philadelphia Cricket Club and Stonewall, Mitzak is a proud Penn State graduate. He brings a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the Trust’s mission. Jeff is currently the Vice President of Private Wealth Management at Goldman Sachs and he has also served on the board of the Philadelphia Outward Bound Center, First Tee of Philadelphia, and the PEF’s (Philadelphia Education Fund) Philadelphia Scholars. His long-standing involvement with the JWP board and his commitment to advancing opportunities for Scholars reflects his passion for giving back. Under his leadership, the Trust will carry forward the traditions and history of the past 67 years while inspiring continued growth and success.
Also serving as the Officers of the JWP Board of Trustees are Robert Aiken, St. David’s Golf Club, Vice Chair; Shelby Noll, Lancaster Country Club, Secretary; and Tim Corcoran, Whitemarsh Valley Country Club, Treasurer.
As Chairwoman, Gregor has been an instrumental leader for J. Wood Platt. Serving on the board since 2008, she contributed to numerous committees before becoming the female chair in 2018. Her leadership established initiatives such as Dawn to Dusk and the Service to Golf program, which allows for J. Wood Platt to expand its reach as GAP continues to grow by allowing those who work in golf operations at the GAP member clubs to be eligible to receive the scholarship. Both initiatives have significantly helped Platt’s mission and impact.
In her newly elected role at WGAP, Teresa Grentz will serve as the organization’s representative for the Trust. Also, retiring from the Board of Trustees is William Lynch of Merion Golf Club, who served from 2020 to 2024. Lynch was part of the Special Projects committee all four years he served. He created an endowment with other Merion members in 2023 and has been supporting the Trust for the past 20 years. Annually, he helps raise awareness at Merion Golf Club.
Myers has been an invaluable team member since starting in 2019 as the Director of Development. In March of 2022, she pivoted to the newly-created role of Director of Scholar and Alumni Engagement to fulfill her passion for helping the Trust’s Scholars. During her time with JWP, Myers developed the EMPOWER program, which has allowed the Trust to extend its support beyond financial aid by connecting Scholars with members of the community to foster success beyond college.
Ryan joins the team with extensive experience from his role as Manager of Alumni Relations at St. Joseph’s Prep, his alma mater, and more recently as a Senior Account Executive at Peergenics. A caddie at Overbrook Golf Club in his youth, Ryan is a graduate of Penn State University.
The staff and Board of Trustees would like to thank all of these individuals for their service in helping the J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust create a bigger impact in the lives of our scholars for years to come. View the full listing of the 2025 Board of Trustees below.

J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust
The J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust was created in 1958 and is the charitable arm of GAP (Golf Association of Philadelphia). The J. Wood Platt Caddie Scholarship Trust’s mission is to financially aid and empower qualified caddies and those working in golf operations in the pursuit of higher education. Along with aiding Scholars financially, J. Wood Platt’s EMPOWER program strengthens scholarship investment dollars by providing Platt Scholars with exceptional benefits and leadership training through access to the wide network of J. Wood Platt donors and alumni. To date, more than 4,200 young men and women have received $29 million in aid from the Trust.
